July 9, 2005 Race started from Little Su Campground River Launch at 8pm. This bike-n-dash style means that at 4am, you're not out of the race if you still haven't retrieved all the checkpoints. The winners were actually the last ones in!

From Little Su Campground to Pt MacKenzie. This course was about 40 miles of mountain biking and 10 miles of off-trail subtle term for ‘bush-wacking). Racers carried all gear from start to finish. Ditching their bikes to orientate into 4 CP’s and 1 geocache. CP’s were ˝ mi to 1.5 mi away from road or trail access. Racing at night diminished the discernment of the fairly flat topography between 1-3:30am. After surviving the ‘biblical proportions’ of mosquito’s, racers had to bike back to the finish. Kudos to all teams!!!

Note: Future EGADS will limit off-trail CP’s to within shorter distances from an obvious topo feature.
